Settings
Every pane in Mooring's Settings window, in order.
To open Settings, choose Mooring ▸ Settings… or press ⌘,. The panes
are in four groups: General, Work, AI, and Input & sync.
General
General
- Roots lists the folders whose subfolders become projects. Add, reorder or remove roots here. Removing a root leaves its folder on your Mac.
- Feedback has Play sounds and Play a sound when a terminal needs attention. If macOS notifications are turned off for Mooring, this section says so and offers a button to fix it.
- Full Disk Access shows whether Mooring has it, and has Tell me when macOS blocks a search. See Cox and first run.
- Recent questions sets Questions shown per card, from 1 to 9. Each project and worktree in the sidebar shows the latest questions you asked Claude there.
- Sessions sets what happens When quitting Mooring: Ask each time, Keep sessions running or Close all sessions. See Tabs and sessions.
Appearance
Mooring has one look, in light and dark, made from your Mac's own colours and accent colour.
- Appearance is System, Light or Dark.
- Colours lets you change any colour, for the light side and the dark side. A colour you've changed shows in bold, and ↺ puts it back. Save… keeps your colours in a file, and Load… brings saved colours back.
Terminal
Choose the terminal's colours. Pick one of Terminal.app's themes, or make your own: Duplicate a theme and change its colours, then Save to File… and Load from File… to keep and share it. You can also choose a theme for one project in its Get Info… window, or for one tab from the tab's menu.
Work
Work Hours
Remind me to take breaks and how often, Play a sound, Alert me at my daily cutoff with a Cutoff time, and the default length of a work block.
Usage

- Warn at sets the warning level, 98% at first.
- At the warning is Ask me first or Wind sessions down on their own.
- When the limit lifts is Restart sessions on their own or Ask me first.
- Re-read from cache sets when a worktree's cache share is flagged as low.
See Claude usage and plan limits.
Worktrees
- Mark a card done and add a summary when its worktree is merged and closed, on at first.
- Custom states, the list of marks you can put on a worktree. Tick Auto on a mark to have it selected already when you create a worktree from a card.
See Worktrees.
Git

- Connection has a Test button. It checks that this Mac can fetch from and push to a project's remote with your saved login. Nothing is sent.
- Git viewer sets how many recent commits the Git viewer shows.
AI
Apple Intelligence
Enable AI suggestions turns on suggestions to split, merge or tighten cards in Up Next, and you can regenerate card summaries. Everything runs on your Mac. Nothing is sent over the network.

⇧⌘T opens. Coxswain's own setup is listed here too. See

MCP
