Mooring vs Conductor
A Conductor alternative for running Claude Code in parallel
Conductor made it easy to run several coding agents at once on a Mac, each in its own git worktree. Since 4 November 2026 it takes no new users, and the app winds down in early 2027.
Mooring covers the same ground for Claude Code. It is a free Mac app that runs Claude Code in real terminal tabs, several at once, each task on its own branch and worktree, with your tasks, usage and plan limits beside each tab.

| Other agents | MooringBuilt around Claude Code. Any other command line agent runs in a tab as a custom command, without the Claude extras. | ConductorClaude Code, Codex and OpenCode built in, and Cursor with an API key. |

| Tasks | MooringThe Cards tab: a list of tasks per project, each one able to become a worktree and a Claude session. | ConductorWorkspaces can start from a GitHub or Linear issue. |

Pick Mooring if
- You need a tool you can still install and that keeps getting updates.
- You like Claude Code in the terminal and want several sessions side by side, each on its own branch.
- You want your plan limits watched for you, with sessions paused before a limit and picked up after it resets.
Pick Conductor if
- You already have Conductor installed, rely on Codex or Cursor as much as Claude Code, and early 2027 is soon enough to move.
- You prefer a chat window to a terminal for talking to the agent.
Moving from Conductor
Your code is in your own git repositories, so there is nothing to export. Conductor kept each workspace as an ordinary git worktree, usually under ~/conductor/workspaces, and any branch you pushed is on GitHub as before.
Push the branches you want to keep, open the repository in Mooring, and give each task its own worktree from the Cards tab. If you used Conductor’s cloud workspaces, push the branches from those before the cloud turns read-only.
