Sessions window

Find any Claude conversation you've had, read it formatted, and resume it. Plus the sidebar's recent questions, which open what Claude replied.

Claude keeps every conversation on your Mac, but finding an old one in a terminal means knowing its ID. The Sessions window lists every Claude conversation Mooring can find, grouped by project, and shows the one you pick in full.

Open the Sessions window

Use any of these:

  • Choose Window ▸ Sessions, or press ⇧⌘Y.
  • Click the Claude mark at the bottom of the sidebar, beside the Settings gear. It lights up while a session is running.
  • Click Open Full Conversation on one of the sidebar's recent questions.

Find a conversation

The list on the left has every Claude conversation on your Mac. Projects are in A to Z order, with the newest conversation first in each. Each row shows the conversation's title, then where it ran and how long ago, for example skv-42-add-search · 3 hours ago. A title reads Reading… for a moment while Mooring reads it.

  • Search sessions at the top of the list matches a conversation's title, project, worktree or branch. It doesn't search what was said.
  • The menu above the list, All projects at first, shows one project only.
  • Conversations from folders that aren't Mooring projects come last, dimmed, under Not in Mooring.

Mooring remembers your search, project and selection when you close the window, and finds them as you left them when you open it again.

Sub-agents

When Claude hands part of a task to a sub-agent, that sub-agent has a conversation of its own. A row with sub-agents shows how many on the right. Click its arrow to list them underneath, and click one to read it. A sub-agent's conversation says which conversation it's part of. Click that to go back.

Read a conversation

Click a row to read the whole conversation on the right: each of your questions, each of Claude's answers, and the tasks handed to sub-agents. The header says how many questions and turns it has.

  • Use Formatted and Markdown to switch between the formatted conversation and its plain text. The Conversation window and the sidebar's question panel follow the same choice.
  • Click Smaller Text or Bigger Text, or press ⌘− and ⌘=, to change the text size. ⌘0 returns to the usual size. The Conversation window uses the same size.
  • Click the pop-out button in the header to open the Conversation window. It follows the selected tab in the main window, not this list.

A message longer than 8,000 characters ends with a note that it was cut off.

Resume a conversation

To carry on with a conversation that has ended:

  1. Select it in the list.
  2. Click Resume in and the place it ran, such as Resume in skv-42-add-search.

Mooring opens a new tab there and Claude reloads the whole conversation.

You can resume a conversation from a Mooring project whose folder is still there. Sub-agents can't be resumed. If the worktree a conversation ran in has been removed, the window says Worktree removed, and you can still read it.

Recent questions in the sidebar

Each project and worktree in the sidebar shows the latest questions you asked Claude there. A question that began with a card you dragged into Claude shows as the card's ticket key and summary, such as SKV-42.

  • Click a question to open a panel beside the sidebar with the whole question and everything Claude replied. This works for finished conversations too.
  • Open Full Conversation, under the reply, opens the Sessions window at that question, highlighted.
  • "· 12 more", under the questions, opens the Sessions window at the latest conversation for that project or worktree.
  • When every session there has ended, the sidebar says ended and when, with Resume in and the place's name. Click it to reopen the conversation in a new tab.

To show more or fewer questions, change Questions shown per card in Settings ▸ General ▸ Recent questions. It can be 1 to 9, and starts at 2.
