Welcome to Mooring docs
Mooring is a free Mac app, the companion for working with Claude Code.
Meet Cox, Mooring's guide. Cox walks you through first run in the app, keeps an eye on your Claude plan limits, and turns up on a few of these pages with a pointer or two. More about Cox.
Each project is a folder on your Mac. Inside it you open tabs: a plain shell, or a Claude Code session. Every tab is a real terminal that keeps running in the background, so your sessions carry on after you quit Mooring. Beside the tabs sits the project's Up Next, where you capture work as cards, typed or dictated, and hand it to Claude.
Where to start
- New to Mooring? Get started to install Mooring and open your first project. Cox and first run walks through the first-run window.
- Want the big picture? The Concepts pages explain projects, tabs, agents and the status dots.
- Looking for a feature? See Up Next, Coxswain, Worktrees, Claude usage and plan limits and the Conversation window.
- Stuck on something? Troubleshooting lists common problems, each with a fix.
What's in these docs
These pages describe Mooring 0.18.0. Mooring is moving quickly, so the changelog has the details of each release, and Help ▸ Tips in the app has a tour of current features.
Conventions
- Keyboard shortcuts use Apple's symbols:
⌘Command,⌥Option,⇧Shift,⌃Control. - Menu paths read left to right, for example Window ▸ Conversation.
- Each card in Up Next is named by its ticket key. Every project has its own
ticket code, which you can change in the project's Get Info… window.
These docs use the demo project's code, so a card reads like
SKV-42.
