Mooring docs

Up Next

The pane beside your tabs where what comes next becomes cards, typed or dictated, moved through a workflow, and handed to Claude.

Up Next is the pane beside your tabs where each project lines up its work as cards. To show or hide it, click Up Next at the right end of the project strip, or press ⌥⌘I. (Mooring 0.18.0 and earlier label the button and menus Backlog.)

Add a card

  1. Press ⌘N, or click the New note box at the top of Up Next.
  2. Type the card.
  3. Click Add, or press ⌘⏎.

To dictate instead, press ⌥⌘M to start and stop. Dictation runs on your Mac, so nothing you say leaves it. Change the shortcut in Settings ▸ Voice Input. You never have to speak: everything has a keyboard way too.

In a project with no cards yet, Cox points to the New note box.

Find cards

  • The chips at the top filter by status: All, Ready, In Progress, In Review, Done, Blocked and Cancelled. (0.18.0 and earlier also have a Backlog status. Updating moves those cards to Ready.) Select more than one chip to combine statuses.
  • The Tags button narrows the list by tag.
  • ⌘F searches titles, descriptions, tags and ticket keys. A search for 42, #42 or SKV-42 finds card SKV-42.

Archive a card

  1. Select the card.
  2. Press ⌘⌫, or right-click it and choose Archive.

The card leaves Up Next straight away. Press ⌘Z to bring it back. Click the Archived chip to see every archived card. Select one there and press ⌘⌫, or choose Restore, to put it back.

To remove a card for good, with its comments and history, right-click it and choose Delete Permanently…. Mooring asks first.

Open a card

Select a card and press ⌘⏎, or click the open button that appears when you point at it. The card's window has:

  • The description and acceptance criteria. Click either to edit it.
  • Comments, with attachments.
  • Links to other cards: blocks, relates to, duplicate of, split from and merged into.
  • Release and fix versions.
  • A short summary of the card, written on your Mac by Apple Intelligence.
  • Mark As, for the marks on the card's worktree. See Worktrees.
  • History, every change to the card, and who made it: you, Claude, or Mooring itself.
  • Coxswain, to ask Claude about this one card. See Coxswain.

Ticket keys

Each card gets a ticket key, such as SKV-42. The letters are the project's ticket code, which you can change in the project's Get Info… window. Cards Claude creates get keys the same way.

Hand a card to Claude

  • Drag a card onto a tab to send it to that session. Claude gets the card's text with its ticket key, and can read the rest of the card with Mooring's tools.
  • Send it to a new worktree with ⌘S, or right-click and choose Send to New Worktree…. Mooring makes a worktree for the card and starts an agent there. See Worktrees.

To see the cards linked to a worktree, right-click the worktree in the sidebar and choose Cards on This Worktree….

Coxswain

The Coxswain menu in Up Next's header opens a chat with Claude about your cards, or one of your saved jobs, such as Find duplicates. See Coxswain.

Favourites

Below the cards, Favourites holds text you reuse, such as prompts and templates. Choose Make Global to use a favourite in every project. Press ⇧⌘K to search your favourites and send one to the selected tab.
