Mooring 0.7.0

Mooring shows what every Claude session is doing — recent prompts in the sidebar and a Sessions window that reads back any conversation. Plus a work-rhythm coach, tab re-filing between worktrees, four new themes, MCP health at a glance, and a deep responsiveness pass.

FeaturesImprovements

Mooring now shows you what every Claude session is doing — the last things you asked, right in the sidebar, and a Sessions window that reads back any conversation in full. Around it: a work-rhythm coach with alerts you actually notice, tab re-filing between worktrees, four new themes, MCP server health at a glance, and a deep responsiveness pass.

See what your Claude sessions are doing

  • Recent questions in the sidebar. The projects sidebar is now a flat source list, like Finder or Xcode: each project, its main checkout, and every worktree is a selectable row, with the last things you asked its Claude sessions listed in italic beneath — dragged cards as their ticket key, typed prompts as a truncated line (hover for the full text). "· n more" opens the full per-session list; tune the count in Settings ▸ General ▸ Recent questions.
  • Resume a dead session. Close a Claude tab and its session lingers dimmed with a Resume button that reopens it in the right worktree with its full conversation (claude --resume).
  • The Sessions window (Window ▸ Sessions, ⌘⇧Y). Browse every conversation on disk — all projects or one, searchable, titled by an AI-written summary, with git branch, model, message count, PR link, and skills. Selecting a conversation shows its entire transcript: your prompts read upright and bright; Claude's replies, sub-agent task delegations, and system turns read muted and italic. Task sub-agents nest under the session that spawned them, and a conversation whose worktree was removed stays as read-only history.
  • Sessions stay accurate. The sidebar's questions survive a relaunch, a fresh session appears the moment you ask (not after Claude's first reply), and messages you typed while Claude was busy are counted instead of silently dropped.
  • Session hygiene. The status-bar tmux popover now tells Claude agents from plain shells with an icon per row, and a new ⋯ menu offers Kill All and Kill Orphaned (confirmed) to clear background sessions in bulk. Closing a tab now verifies Claude actually terminated — a survivor gets a retry and a loud log instead of leaking invisibly.
  • Claude wears its own mark. Everything that is Claude — agent launch buttons, session rows, transcript turns, the Sessions surfaces — carries Claude's terracotta starburst instead of a generic sparkle or chat glyph; where the mark doubles as a state light it ignites while a session is live.

Work rhythm: breaks, a soft cutoff, and work blocks

  • Break reminders after a set stretch of active work (time away doesn't burn the timer), each offering a tracked 5-minute break or a snooze.
  • A soft daily cutoff with a 30-minute wind-down and a "time to stop" alert — you can keep working past it; it just reminds you.
  • Work blocks from the status bar: run a timed block with a live countdown, extend it, or end early. You choose how it alerts — banner, sound, alert window, and/or a whole-window pulse; sound and pulse need no notification permission, so a block can't end silently. Lengths are to the minute (90, 1h30, 12m…), and the finish alert offers Snooze 5 min.
  • Settings moved to a grouped sidebar (General / Work / AI / Input & sync) — every pane reachable without the overflow chevron — and the Settings window's traffic-light buttons got their breathing room back.

Worktrees and tabs

  • Move a tab to another worktree. Drag a tab onto a worktree row (or back onto the project row), or right-click ▸ Move to Worktree — the running tmux session and any live Claude conversation carry over untouched.
  • ⌘S sends a selected card to a new worktree, joining ⌘D / ⌘⌫ / ⌘⇧D in the card shortcut family.
  • Worktrees created outside Mooring (detached checkouts, Claude's own harness worktrees) now show a proper name with a detached · <sha> subtitle, and opening a Markdown/HTML file from a worktree's file tree lands in that worktree's tab strip, not main's.
  • Slow actions show they're working: creating a worktree cues the footer during the checkout, removing one dims its row with a spinner, Clone from Git says "Cloning…", and the diff viewer shows a loading state instead of a misleading "No changes".

MCP: health, control, and write access

  • A live MCP status dot in the status bar — running / not responding / down / off — backed by a real ping, so a wedged server reads unhealthy instead of falsely green. Restart Server rebinds the listener without relaunching, and turning MCP off now actually revokes agent access.
  • The wedge itself is fixed: one idle pane's connection could starve every other pane's MCP tools process-wide. Connections are now isolated, and a pane disconnecting mid-reply can no longer take the app down.
  • Agents can edit the backlog over MCP — a new manage_item tool adds update / delete / create-favourite verbs, gated by the Settings ▸ MCP Writes toggle, every operation ⌘Z-undoable, with an explicit opt-in (and a loud warning) for anything cross-project.
  • Claude tabs launch through an interactive login shell, so a fresh machine whose PATH lives in ~/.zshrc (the Claude native installer, nvm, pyenv) just works.

Four new themes

  • The gallery grows to ten: Harbor (arctic slate), Dusk (violet twilight), Kelp (forest moss), and Ember (sunset charcoal) — each with a coordinated terminal palette that recolours live terminals in place, all clearing the same WCAG-AA legibility bar. The ⌘-hover link menu and worktree pop-ups now follow your theme too.

Faster and smoother

  • Typing in the terminal stays crisp while Claude streams — transcript indexing moved off the main thread, and the sidebar re-renders only on real changes.
  • A backgrounded project window no longer pins the CPU during active file work, and the backlog's Favourites section stopped re-filtering itself on every database write.
  • Backups no longer freeze the app. Export and the daily auto-backup run in the background with a footer cue; imports decode in the background and the preview sheet shows an honest "Importing…" state.
  • Terminal font-size shortcuts (⌘+ / ⌘− / ⌘0) act on the tab you're looking at again, and the phantom link popover over blank terminal cells is gone.

Also

  • The usage popover links straight to your official claude.ai plan usage.
  • While dictating a note, ⌘Return stops the mic, waits for your final words, and adds the card in one press.
  • Imported backups keep their ticket numbers and counters — a fresh-machine import no longer restarts at MOOR-1.
  • Moving a favourite to the backlog mints a properly numbered ticket immediately.

As always, Mooring updates itself — you'll get this automatically. Please report anything odd.
