Mooring 0.6.0

Mooring becomes yours to style — six built-in themes (terminal included) on one calm chassis, with per-project themes and custom theme files. Plus your Claude connectors now work in Mooring's panes, and a backup-import crash is fixed.

Mooring becomes yours to style: six built-in themes — terminal included — on one calm, refined chassis, with per-project themes and custom theme files. Plus your Claude connectors now work in Mooring's panes, and a nasty backup-import crash is fixed.

Themes

  • Settings ▸ General ▸ Appearance has a gallery of six themes. Switching one restyles the whole app — colours only, never layout:
    • Graphite (the new default) — a calm, near-neutral "premium dev tool" look, tuned against Linear.
    • Berth — Mooring's original warm-burgundy identity, preserved value-for-value. Existing installs stay on it, so updating never changed your colours.
    • Fathom (deep navy), Lagoon (teal), Daybreak (a designed warm-paper light mode), and Beacon (true-black high contrast, WCAG-AA checked).
  • The terminal follows the theme. Each theme ships a matching terminal palette; live terminals recolour in place (sessions never restart). Turn "Terminal follows theme" off to keep your own colours — and Berth never touches the terminal.
  • Per-project themes. A project's Get Info sheet can pin a theme, so the whole window — terminal included — announces which project you're in the moment you switch. Backups carry it.
  • Day/night pairs. "In Light Mode" pairs a second theme for daytime; with Appearance set to System, macOS's schedule flips between the two identities.
  • Custom themes are one JSON file dropped into ~/Library/Application Support/Mooring/Themes (Settings has Open Themes Folder / Reload; format documented in docs/THEMES.md).
  • A quieter chassis under every theme: the content area floats as a rounded panel on a continuous window frame; cards carry hairline borders on a single radius scale; selection is one language everywhere (soft fill + 1px ring — cards no longer grow and shift when selected); a six-role type scale replaces ad-hoc sizes; and Claude tabs show Claude's starburst in its brand terracotta.

Your Claude connectors work in Mooring's panes

  • A Claude pane launched by Mooring now sees the same MCP servers a normal terminal claude session does — your claude.ai account connectors (Slack, Gmail, Drive, Calendar…), marketplace plugin MCP servers, and any project .mcp.json — not just the built-ins plus Mooring's own server. (Mooring used to launch Claude with --strict-mcp-config, which walled panes off from every other integration.)

Fixes

  • Importing a backup no longer crashes at the preview. The "Import this backup?" sheet is shown in its own window, which doesn't inherit the app's shared services — and a helper attached to its rows required one, so the app could quit the instant the sheet appeared. Nothing was ever imported or lost; the fix makes that helper degrade gracefully, so the preview renders and imports run to completion.
  • Dev-build spawn recovery. In the dev build, new shell/agent tabs could start closing themselves instantly after macOS cleaned its temp folders; the isolated tmux socket directory is now guaranteed before every spawn. (Production spawning was never affected.)
  • Honest Screen Recording permission button. Settings ▸ MCP's grant button no longer looks dead after first use — when permission is missing it deep-links to System Settings and explains the relaunch requirement.

As always, Mooring updates itself — you'll get this automatically. Please report anything odd.
