FeaturesImprovementsFixes
Mooring 0.18.0 has a new look built from your Mac's own colours, so everyone's colours change with this update. It also introduces Cox, Mooring's new character, who shows you around and can wind Claude down at your plan limit, plus a Conversation window and a clearer Claude Usage window.
A new look
- Mooring has one look, light and dark, made from the colours macOS uses. Expect the whole app, terminal included, to look different the first time you open it.
- The accent is the one you chose in System Settings, and Mooring switches between light and dark when your Mac does.
- Change any colour in Settings ▸ Appearance ▸ Colours. Save… keeps your colours in a file and Load… brings them back.
- Give the terminal its own colours with one of Terminal.app's themes, in Settings ▸ Terminal.
Cox
- Cox is the Mooring icon in a cox's cap. He sees you through the first run and helps you add your first card.
- When your Claude plan nears a limit, Cox offers to wind your sessions down. Each one finishes its step, notes how to pick up again and stops. Mooring restarts them when the limit resets.
- Settings ▸ Usage sets when he warns you and whether he asks first.
Claude
- Window ▸ Conversation shows the selected tab's conversation, formatted, beside the terminal. ⌘+ and ⌘− change its text size.
- The status bar shows what's left of your plan's 5-hour window.
- The Claude Usage window shows whether you can keep working, what your usage was worth, and where it went. Coxswain's spend has its own line.
Full Disk Access
- When Claude searches your disk, macOS can stop to ask about "data from other apps", and it names Mooring. Giving Mooring Full Disk Access stops those questions.
- It's optional. After updating you'll see a one-time sheet that explains it.
Also new
- Push, Pull and Clone work on HTTPS remotes, using your own git. Settings ▸ Git shows which git that is.
- Click the selected tab's icon to open its menu.
- Links show the pointing hand, and the footer tells you when something has a right-click menu.
Fixes
- Mooring no longer stays in the Dock after you quit.
- Mooring uses less CPU while Claude is working.
- Updated libraries for the updater and keyboard shortcuts.
- And lots of smaller fixes.
